Personal note from Edward Gordon about "Apples"
My most recent painting, "Apples", started out as a still life with fruit. First, the bowl contained peaches and they seemed too dull, then I switched to green apples and, finally, to red apples. Then I decided to add a window and a lush garden outside. Then, the garden became an ocean; I just couldn't help myself. This painting features the front hall and a view of the dining room from our lovely home in Vermont. - E.G.
This painting was the inspiration for a gourmet meal captured on an episode of Chef's Kitchen, taped at the Arts in the Inns festival, 2009, Kennebunkport, Maine.
