2009 Print Edition Size: 450 signed/numbered All prints are Giclée on Somerset paper A note from Edward Gordon "Last Light" - I've always loved the time of day, after the sun has set, but a sliver of color remains on the horizon. This is the time, at the end of a crisp winter day, the snow shows that beautiful Maxfield Parrish blue. I think this blue is somehow related to the shade part of Alpine Glow. The idea of painting a glowing Tiffany lamp has always appealed to me. The vision of this painting has been with me for some time and, with Joa's help, we put together a still life in our living room and this is the result. Although the lettering is partly obscured, the large book in the painting is "Ten Great Plays by William Shakespeare." --E.G. |
