Edward was an artist-in-residence for Arts in the Inns in Kennebunkport, Maine. Ten artists placed their work in the unique setting of Kennebunkport's Inns and Hotels for the Artists in Residence Inns Tour. This was a wonderful weekend, full of exciting events. During the Inns Tour, ticketholding guests had the chance to view the art with the artists-in-residence answering questions in person about their work. Edward and his artwork was hosted by the Captain Jefferds Inn, a spectacular historic 1805 sea captain's home, owned by innkeepers Erik and Sarah Lindblom. The gorgeous inn matched beautifully with the finely detailed interior scenes and seascapes of Edward's artwork.
Edward and Joa later attended a private dinner prepared by noted Chef Jonathan Cartwright, in Edward's honor, in the elegant wine cellar of The White Barn Inn. Another event with Chef Johnathan Cartwright was taped for an upcoming TV show episode of "The Chefs Kitchen", www.chefskitchen.tv. Cartwright prepared a dish based on Edward's painting "Apples", made of Seared Scallops with Spinach, Apple and Celery foam. Delicious! The food was pared with Tattinger champagne, and a member of the Tattinger family was present at the dinner.
Edward and Joa also attended a Chef's Gala, at a table with their local art dealers from Maine Art Gallery, and the other artists represented by Maine Art. Two chefs at that event, Steve Corry from Portland Maine's 555 (check him out on YouTube) and Mark Militello, Executive Chef at 1 Bleu in South Beach Miami (and winner of the prestigious James Beard Award!) each presented their own gourmet version of the famed Maine lobster, in a fun smack-down fashion! Chefs Mark and Steve have both been named Best Chef by Food and Wine magazine... Needless to say, the food was fantastic and so was the company. Our sincere thanks to everyone involved |
