The moonrise in the painting was captured near Laytonville, CA several years ago. Joa and I were rounding a bend on a 12 mile dirt road on our way to a wedding and ran smack into this gorgeous rising moon. This moon was very similar to the amazing "Blue" moon we saw in the early spring of 2011. The lamp is a Handel design circa 1910 borrowed from our friend Michael Bruno who owns a fabulous antique jewelry store called Michael Joseph in Bellows Falls, Vermont (3 Westminster Street, 802-428-4444.) The woodwork and window are from our home here in Vermont. -- Edward Gordon All Materials © Gordon Publications, All Rights
